His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Municipality & Planning Department in Ajman, witnessed the signing of  Strategic Partnership Agreement among Tech Group, Besix and Ocean Harvest, to promote cooperation in the use of innovative aquaculture approaches for salmon production.

The Partnership Agreement was signed for the Companies by Mr. Shiraz Hasan, CEO of Tech Group, Mr. Peter Lembrechts, Head of Strategy and Transformation at BESIX, Mr. Haytham Shanshal, CEO and Co-founder of Ocean Harvest and Mr. Robert Kupstas, Co-Founder & Chief Strategy Officer at Ocean Harvest.

In this respect, His Highness stressed that all parties and companies seek to consolidate strong partnerships that contribute to achieving the best results in the area of food, stressing that the Partnership Agreement comes in support of the initiatives of the aquaculture sector in the State.

His Highness said that we look forward to achieving sustainable food security and reduce carbon emissions to preserve environment and maintain natural resources, these aquaculture projects depend on using the best methods in water treatment to ensure the safety and health of everyone.

He added: “we support pilot projects that rely on the use of recycling systems, and are concerned with water conservation. The project uses, in fact, re-uses 99.5% of water it uses though advanced water treatment”. He noted that innovative agriculture, which is alternative to conventional methods of salmon farming, will contribute to finding alternative solutions in facing environmental challenges, protecting aquatic organisms and combating all forms of damage and pests that may be faced.

The Partnership Agreement focuses on promoting development opportunities, achieving food security and producing high quality salmon at affordable prices.

During the singing, the parties agreed that the project should be executed to the fullest to be a catalyst for companies operating in the area of food and a compass for those interested in fish farming.
