His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning – Ajman Department, asserted that the unity between citizens, residents, and all employees in state institutions represents a firmly established model of loyalty and belonging to this nation.

“What we witnessed during the exceptional circumstances demonstrated the strength of social solidarity, as the leadership stood by everyone without discrimination, emphasizing that people are the true wealth of the nation,” His Excellency added that.

This took place during the third Ramadan session of the Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Majlis, held titled “The UAE: A Nation of Tolerance, Coexistence and Peace,” under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, with the participation of His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Vice Chairman of the National Media Authority, His Excellency Maqsoud Cruz, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Countering Violent Extremism and Terrorism, and in the presence of a number of officials.

The session, moderated by His Excellency Mohammed Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Ajman Government Media Office, addressed the UAE’s role in consolidating the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, and strengthening national and international efforts to combat extremism and terrorism.

His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi asserted that the UAE, in all circumstances and challenges, has been at the forefront of extending a helping hand to those in need and those affected, both within the country and abroad, through humanitarian initiatives that reflect the values ​​of compassion, solidarity, and the preservation of human dignity. These humanitarian initiatives reinforce the sense of belonging and loyalty of everyone living in the UAE, as the country is founded on authentic humanitarian principles that make cohesion and cooperation the basis for the strength and stability of society, His Excellency noted.

His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi stated that the UAE is based on deeply rooted values ​​of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for humanity. It unequivocally rejects all forms of terrorism, extremism, and racism, believes that the strength of societies lies in their diversity and the solidarity of their members, and confirms that human dignity and social cohesion are fundamental to its development journey and its civilizational approach.

For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi asserted that the UAE Constitution guarantees freedom of opinion and expression within the framework of the law, balancing freedom of expression with social responsibility, noting that media is not limited to what is said, but extends to how it is presented and its impact on society. He pointed to the importance of responsible media based on professionalism and awareness of national values. He also reviewed the role of the National Media Authority, which was established in 2026 through the merger of three media institutions, with the aim of achieving alignment and coordination among media efforts and building a more integrated media system.

The Authority operates according to a clear vision based on promoting responsible national media, building a stimulating environment for the growth of the media sector, and empowering talent. He noted that the sector has witnessed rapid and remarkable growth, reflecting the great confidence in the media environment in the country, His Excellency added

He highlighted the Authority’s most prominent roles, which include regulating the media sector, overseeing media publication and distribution, guiding media discourse in a way that promotes national values, in addition to consolidating its role as a reliable source of information, and working to empower media professionals.

He emphasized the importance of sustained efforts to develop a conscious media approach to addressing hate speech and extremism that may harbor hidden agendas, thus preserving the UAE’s model of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

For his part, His Excellency Maqsoud Kruse affirmed that all forms of extremism and terrorism begin with an ideology based on intolerance and ignorance. This ideology gradually leads to criminal behavior that relies on intimidating others and justifying the use of violence against innocent people, noting that the UAE, as a nation of humanity, strives to instill a culture of life and responsibility and to enhance the role of media in confronting these phenomena through the dissemination of knowledge and community awareness.

His Excellency stressed the importance of leveraging media in countering extremist ideology, noting that the media plays a pivotal role in exposing and dismantling extremist narratives, promoting prevention, and building intellectual and psychological resilience among members of society.

He added that the media is a double-edged sword; it can be exploited by terrorist groups to spread toxic ideas and promote their extremist ideologies, but conversely, it represents a positive and powerful tool for disseminating humanitarian principles and values ​​and strengthening the culture of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.

The session included a review of the UAE model, which embraces more than 200 nationalities living together in a framework of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. This is guaranteed by the country’s constitution and reflects its humanitarian model based on tolerance and openness.

The session emphasized the role of the media in the UAE, which plays a vital part in achieving balance among this cultural and religious diversity. This is accomplished through responsible media discourse that promotes values ​​of respect and understanding among different segments of society.
