City University Ajman (CUA) held a meeting of the board of trustees at the University’s campus, presided by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi, Board Chairman, to discuss institutional performance, strategic priorities, and CUA’s most recent academic accomplishments.
The meeting was attended by the members of the board of trustees, namely, H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, Vice Board Chairman and the Chairman of Ajman Ports & Customs Department (APCD), H.E. Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, the Director-General of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Shams, the Director-General of Ajman’s Department of Legal Affairs, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Al-Jesmi, Mr. Sameer Tariq, and Mr. Imran Khan, CUA’s President.
His Highness appreciated the efforts of CUA’s board of directors for their hard work and the adoption of the ambitious plans that aim for CUA’s advancement and development.
His Highness emphasized the importance of instilling a culture that is based on knowledge exchange, cooperation, and innovation, with encouraging the enhancement of partnerships with the labor sector for the attainment of sustainable development and the enhancement of CUA’s position as an outstanding academic institution on the local and global level.
From his side, Mr. Imran Khan, CUA’s President, gave a detailed explanation to His Highness on the achievements that have been accomplished by the Department, presenting CUA’s earning of a 5-star rating by QS Stars Rating System in the fields of teaching, recruitment, globalization, and facilities, a thing which reflects CUA’s commitment to academic excellence.
CUA’s President went on to talk about the accomplished achievements, including the international accreditation of the Public Relations & Advertising program by the Agency for Quality Assurance (AQAS), a reputable Germany agency.
Mr. Khan added: “CUA is looking forward to receive international accreditations for all the academic programs and faculties thereof, including the accreditation of business programs by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the accreditation of the Bachelor’s Program in Dental Surgery by the Australian Dental Council (ADC), and the accreditation of law programs by High Council for the Evaluation of Research & Higher Education (HCERES).”
A talk took place in the meeting on CUA’s launching of several specialized academic programs in consistency with the labor market, including a Master’s Program in Media Leadership & Communication Strategies, a Master’s Program in Strategic Human Resources Management, a Bachelor’s Program in Digital Media Production, advanced programs in artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and dental training, all of which are designed to equip students with the required and future skills.
The meeting closed with a number of recommendations that will be pursued, in the course of the leadership’s care for the development of CUA as a dynamic institution of academic excellence, innovation, and international engagement.
