Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, affirmed that May 6 marks a glorious national occasion that inspires the UAE to reflect on the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, and his fellow Founding Fathers, who completed the foundations of the Union by unifying the Armed Forces into an impenetrable fortress and a formidable shield defending the nation and protecting its skies and land.

In a statement marking the 50th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi said that May 6, 1976, represents a defining milestone that reflects the wisdom of the UAE’s wise leadership and its forward-looking vision, characterised by remarkable foresight and boundless ambition. One of the most significant outcomes of this vision was the unification of the Armed Forces under a single command, establishing a formidable institution dedicated to safeguarding the nation and preserving its achievements.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates; and the people of the UAE.
