His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, launched the Department’s 2025–2027 strategy, paving the way for the next phase in the development of the forward-thinking emirate. The strategy represents a significant step in improving the municipal work framework, aimed at enhancing community well-being, promoting urban and environmental growth, and establishing a comprehensive urban model in line with the guidance of the leadership, Ajman Vision 2030, UAE 50^th Principles, and UAE Centennial 2071.

A Vision and Mission That Shape the Emirate’s Future 

The newly devised strategy is centered around a clear vision of “sustainable development for generations to come”, through which the Department aims to further establish Ajman as a forward-thinking city equipped with an integrated urban, environmental, and health system.

Guided by its mission, the Department strives to craft a modern emirate built on a sustainable foundation that fulfills residents’ needs in areas such as urban planning, infrastructure, environmental preservation, health, and public safety. This approach underscores the Department’s dedication to fostering progress through innovative methods that drive holistic development and enhance societal well-being.

In this context, His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, during a launch event attended by H.E. Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, alongside executive directors, directors, and employees expressed pride in introducing a strategy that serves as a comprehensive roadmap for the Department’s efforts in the years ahead. His Highness stressed that people and society are central to achieving sustainable growth, fostering urban development, and ensuring collective well-being and happiness.

His Highness highlighted that the Department’s current strategy was developed based on precise scientific foundations and thorough studies reflecting both the present and future needs of the emirate. This effort involved the engagement of national talents and strategic partners, aiming to ensure complete integration and lasting harmony across urban, environmental, economic, and social development sectors.

He also commended the Department’s staff for their unwavering dedication, hard work, sincerity, and teamwork. Their collective efforts, functioning as a unified and cohesive unit, are pivotal in advancing the journey of excellence, progress, and development. His Highness emphasized that these endeavors aspire to enhance services and establish Ajman as one of the most future-ready cities.

An Ambitious Strategy Fueled by Collaborative Endeavors 

For his part, H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, emphasized that this strategy represents the combined efforts of all sectors within the Department. He highlighted that the Department will operate within its framework to initiate key projects and carry out meaningful initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing for the emirate’s residents while fostering holistic development across multiple domains.

A Strategic Framework in Line with Ajman Vision 2030 

The Department’s 2025–2027 strategy is built on a unified vision and mission and a solid system of institutional values, translated into 7 strategic directions and 17 institutional goals that form a comprehensive framework for advancing the municipal work system and enhancing wellbeing in the emirate. These directions include creating an urban environment that enhances Ajman’s attractiveness and livability, establishing an integrated and sustainable mobility system, strengthening environmental sustainability, fostering a competitive business environment that supports economic growth, building an inclusive, cohesive, and empowered community, developing national talents capable of meeting the emirate’s aspirations, and achieving government excellence through a flexible, innovative, and efficient operating model focused on results and supporting the emirate’s readiness for the future.

Promoting Emirate’s Attractiveness and Developing Sustainable Infrastructure

In line with its current strategy, the Department continues to advance vital projects, working to increase the rate of urban growth to reach the targeted 66.3% by 2030, and raise the percentage of paved roads to 86% by 2030. This will be achieved through the development of a more connected and efficient road network, strengthening an integrated infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, and establishing a sustainable urban mobility system that aligns with modern planning trends and supports Ajman Vision 2030 in creating a balanced and livable environment.

Environment Sustainability Promotion

The Department places environment sustainability at the core of its strategy and strives to achieve the best outcomes. It will continue its sustainable efforts in the coming phase through an integrated waste management system, targeting an ambitious 80% rate to support the transition toward carbon neutrality, enhance waste management efficiency, elevate environmental and health monitoring standards, and safeguard biodiversity and natural resources, thus contributing to building a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for all residents of the emirate.
