Ajman University enhances Mohammed Hussein Al Shaali, Fathy Afana endowment scholarship funds

In the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, Ajman University witnessed the signing of two agreements to amend and increase the allocations of the Mohammed Hussein Al Shaali Endowment Scholarship Fund and the Fathy Afana Endowment Scholarship Fund. This step enhances the sustainability of the two funds and increases the number of students benefiting from them.

This initiative falls within Ajman University’s mission as a non-profit higher education institution prioritizing quality education and contributing to preparing qualified cadres who support knowledge-based development.

The two endowment funds aim to empower outstanding students who cannot afford the costs of their studies, helping them continue their education and complete their academic journey, and providing them with opportunities to contribute to serving their community.

The increased allocations to the two endowment funds reflect the University’s approach to developing its endowment programs as sustainable tools for supporting students, enhancing community partnerships in education, and establishing the role of non-profit educational institutions in developing talent and building human capital.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi commended the contributions of Mr. Mohammed Hussein Al Shaali and Mr. Fathy Afana in fostering the two endowment scholarship funds. “Supporting education is one of the highest forms of social responsibility, as it is, above all, an investment in human beings. The endowment initiatives offered by philanthropists open the doors of knowledge to diligent students, empowering them to continue their education and contribute to serving their community and nation,” His Excellency said.

“These initiatives are in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, to empower individuals and provide educational opportunities for all members of society, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council,” His Excellency added.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi wrapped up saying, “Ajman University, as a non-profit institution, regards education as a societal duty based on equal opportunities, geared towards preparing generations equipped with knowledge, skills, and sense of responsibility. Strengthening the two scholarship funds contributes to students’ academic stability and opens broader horizons for them to serve their community.” His Excellency went on.

Ajman University continues to develop its endowment programs and community partnerships, providing quality education to a larger number of students, supporting the development of qualified professionals who contribute to serving society and the nation’s progress, and reinforcing the role of education in empowering youth and building a knowledge-based society.
