His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), asserted that the UAE is an attractive global destination for hosting various sporting championships, thanks to its supportive leadership, welcoming people, and an administrative system that facilitates the organization and hosting of major tournaments, in addition to a comprehensive infrastructure that ensures the highest standards of comfort for athletes.

The sporting achievements of recent years reflect the scale of the work undertaken and the well-thought-out planning, His Excellency pointed out, emphasizing that continuous work and concerted efforts among the various sports entities in the country are the cornerstones for further development and raising the level of sports in the UAE.

This came during the closing session of the Rashid bin Humaid Ramadan Majlis for 2026, which was dedicated to discussing the state of sports in the UAE, under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, with the participation of experienced and specialized sports officials in the country, as well as media representatives.

He stressed that the establishment of a sports council in each emirate should take into account several factors, including the size of the emirate, its sporting needs, and the nature of its activities, ensuring the adoption of the most suitable model that achieves optimal effectiveness and efficiency in managing and developing the sports sector.

His Highness spoke about his experience overseeing beach soccer, noting its positive results during his tenure. The national team qualified for the World Cup finals, an achievement that reflects the significant effort invested in the sport.
