The Rashid bin Humaid Majlis held its second Ramadan session under the title “Family First… The UAE’s Vision for the Future of Humanity,” under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), and with the participation of Her Excellency Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family Affairs, along with a myriad of officials and members of the community.

His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi asserted that prioritizing the family is a firmly established approach, the foundations of which were laid by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah have mercy on him, who believed that true investment lies in human beings, and that developing human resources is the solid foundation for building nations and ensuring their continued prosperity. Accordingly, institutions were established, facilities were built, and legislation was integrated, all to serve the Emirati family, enhance its stability, and empower it.

“Today, we proudly witness the development of the Emirati family to its highest potential. The sons and daughters of the nation have become brilliant examples, raising the UAE flag at regional and international forums and holding the highest positions both locally and globally, clearly reflecting the fruits of long-term investment in human capital,” His Excellency added:

His Excellency noted that the UAE today represents a distinct model of family cohesion and social solidarity. With the support of the wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may Allah protect him, we see a clear strategy and comprehensive plans adopted by the Ministry of Family Affairs. These initiatives underscore a deep belief in the importance of sustainably supporting families and providing all the necessary resources to strengthen their cohesion and stability. The continued support for families in various areas that touch every home, empowering every parent and enabling them to raise the next generation, ensuring that Emiratis remain the focus and goal of development, confidently and competently carrying the torch of the future, His Excellency emphasized.

For her part, Her Excellency the Minister of Family Affairs affirmed that the family file is not a new issue being addressed by the state today, but rather a deeply rooted national project dating back to the founding of the nation. She explained that every new stage of development requires innovative mechanisms and more advanced tools to keep pace with changes. Therefore, the wise leadership was keen to strengthen institutional efforts by establishing the Ministry of Family Affairs, believing that the family is the foundation of society’s continuity and stability. The family is the primary foundation upon which values are formed, identity is built, and the principles of responsibility and belonging are instilled.

The methodology adopted by the Ministry is based on a comprehensive participatory approach with various institutions and entities, as well as individuals and parents, ensuring the integration of roles and the unification of efforts to serve Emirati families, Her Excellency stressed.

The Ministry, in the first year of its establishment, focused on laying the proper foundations to ensure a smooth and sustainable launch, Her Excellency, noting that work began with the development of a national strategy that was not formulated behind shut doors, but rather emerged from a broad participatory approach involving various local and federal entities. This stemmed from the belief that family growth and expansion is a shared national responsibility. Accordingly, the Ministry is working through three comprehensive and integrated tracks to ensure optimal results and a tangible impact on the ground.

Her Excellency pointed out that working teams collaborated with more than 20 entities to formulate the “Family Growth Agenda,” along with conducting field visits across the various emirates of the UAE, from Fujairah to Al Dhafra. These visits allowed for direct observation of challenges and needs, and provided a comprehensive understanding of the realities of families in all their dimensions.

Her Excellency noted that the findings of studies and research confirmed that the core challenge lies in the intellectual and behavioral aspects, requiring a greater focus on developing critical thinking and promoting positive values, especially among youth and the rising generation, as they are the cornerstone of the future.

The National Agenda is based on three main pillars: developing legislation, promoting intellectual and behavioral trends, and supporting reproductive health. This aims to establish a comprehensive national framework with clear objectives that ensure family growth and stability, thereby strengthening the continuity and cohesion of society, Her Excellency added.

The Majlis reviewed the most prominent challenges facing family growth and stability, highlighting the negative impact of some digital transformation practices and the accompanying changes in communication patterns and relationships within the family. It also addressed the accelerating pace of life, which imposes social and economic pressures that affect family cohesion and life quality life.

Additionally, it emphasized the importance of promoting positive marriage models and highlighting family success stories, contributing to the consolidation of sound concepts and building a societal awareness that supports family stability and growth.

These programs focus on supporting parents, developing children’s skills, and providing a supportive legislative and social environment that ensures the family has the foundations for sustainable growth. This, in turn, positively impacts the cohesion and continuity of society, guaranteeing the ideal upbringing of future generations. This represents the core of the Ministry’s work and its primary priority, ensuring the existence of prosperous families with firmly rooted values.
